L.A. County Sheriffs Shoot Crazed Woman With a Wrench. L.A. County Sheriffs Shoot shooting 25 year old Bridget Blaney

On November 26, 2022, at 10:03 AM, deputies assigned to San Dimas Sheriff’s Station responded to North Vincent Avenue and East Edna Place regarding a call of a vandalism in progress.

The caller stated a White female was swinging a large metal wrench damaging vehicles as they drove by. Further information on the call indicated the female was last seen walking north on North Vincent Avenue toward Cypress
Street. The female was later identified as 25-year-old Bridget Blaney.

As a deputy responded to the location, Blaney was walking near the northwest corner of North Vincent Avenue and Cypress Street holding a large metal wrench and shattered the passenger window of a vehicle traveling south on North Vincent Avenue. The deputy stopped and exited his patrol vehicle to detain Blaney. She walked toward the backend of his patrol vehicle and smashed the rear window with the wrench. Blaney charged toward the deputy while attempting to strike him with the wrench and a deputy-involved shooting occurred.

Blaney sustained gunshot wounds to her torso. Deputies rendered first aid until the arrival of the Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics. She was transported to a local hospital where she was treated for her injuries and medically cleared for booking.

A 10-pound metal wheel wrench, 24 inches in length, was recovered at the scene.

There were no other persons injured in the incident.
